If you’re like me, your diet is 90% snacks! I tend to get stuck in an endless loop of sweet and salty, sweet and salty . . . Here are some of the best:
Based on the soy-free and gluten-free label, I would normally judge this all-natural snack to be a little to healthy for my liking, but it is really delicious. It tastes kind of like the Chewy Chips Ahoy I used to have in my lunchbox.
Another great one from Justin’s. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups used to be my favorite — but trust me these are so much better! Just be sure to watch out for the milk and white chocolate ones which contain dairy.
This one is verging on dessert, but I couldn’t resist because I need you all to know about the magic that is Van Leeuwen’s. Van Leeuwen’s is a New York and LA based ice cream brand selling both dairy and dairy-free ice cream. Their dairy free dark chocolate ice cream is the best ice cream I’ve ever had — before or after going vegan. Their cookie dough flavor is also spectacular. I can’t speak much for the actual ice cream because I usually just pick the cookie dough out but the cookie dough chunks are amazing — all old-fashioned and butterscotch-y. My recommendation: get one scoop of dark chocolate, one scoop of cookie dough and drizzle with chocolate sauce.
We all know of Earth Balance’s White Cheddar and Butter popcorns (yum!), but how many of us have been lucky enough to experience Little Lad’s Herbal Corn? I was once unable to find any Earth Balance, and disappointedly bought this instead. I wasn’t looking forward to it — at first taste I didn’t even like it — the savory, herbal seasoning mix was too intense for snacking for my taste. But by the time I finished my first bag I was addicted and quickly ordered five more.
Sunflower Seeds are a tradition on both sides of my family. On the Jewish side, we call them “poly seeds” and on the Cuban side, “semillas”. David’s sunflower seeds are a great snack to sit down and relax with — just try not to eat the whole bag!
Snack on — it’s easier than cooking!
